Applications are invited from eligible Indian Citizens for appointment as Probationary Officers (POs) in State Bank of India. The online registration starts on 31.01.2013 and ends on 23.02.2013. Candidates selected are liable to be posted anywhere in India.

Age, Experience and Qualification
Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government. Candidates age should be between 21 to 30 years as on 01.01.2013. Upper age is relaxable by – 3 years in the case of OBC candidates, 5 years in the case of : (a) SC/ST candidates, 10 years for VH/OH (Gen); 13 years for VH/OH (OBC) and 15 years for VH/OH (SC/ST) candidates.

Candidates need to register online through Bank’s website www.statebankofindia.com or www.sbi.co.in
The selection process will be based on three phases,
1. Written examination (250 marks)
Objective Tests (200 marks): The Objective Tests with 2 hour duration will consists of 4 Sections with 50 marks each as follows: (a) Test of English Language (Grammer, Vocabulary, Comprehension etc) (b) Test of General Awareness, Marketing and Computers (c) Test of Data Analysis and Interpretation (d) Test of Reasoning (High Level) Descriptive Test (50 marks): The Descriptive Test with 1 hour duration will be of “Test of English Language (comprehension, short précis, letter writing & essay)”. The candidates are required to qualify in the Descriptive Test by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank
2. Group discussion & Interview
(20 marks) & Interview (30 marks)
3. Final Selection
The candidates will have to qualify both in Phase-I and Phase-II separately.
Payment of Fee
SC/ST/PWD candidates need to pay Rs. 50/- (Rupees Fifty only) for intimation charges. General and other candidates should pay Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two hundred only) for application fees and intimation charges. Candidates can choose either online or offline mode of payment.
Candidates should first scan their photograph and signature before process registration. Candidates to visit Bank’s website www.statebankofindia.com or www.sbi.co.in and open the appropriate Online Application Format, available in the ‘Recruitment link’. Candidates should give own and valid e-mail ID and mobile number while registration. It should be kept active until the declaration of results. When the data is saved, a provisional registration number and password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidate should note down the registration number and password.
